Inspecting the Storage Facility

With all the different storage companies out there, it may be difficult to choose the one that’s best for your needs. Not all storage facilities are the same. Before you agree to keep your items in a storage space, it is always a good idea to visually inspect the facility and learn more about its features.

Location is one of the most important issues when choosing a facility. First, the storage company should be conveniently located near your new residence. You never know when you may need to access your belongings, or bring addition items into your space.

The storage unit should be clean and have a sufficient amount of space for all of your items. At many storage companies, it is standard that the units are also all climate-controlled. Security features are key, and these days facilities have alarms, motion detectors, video surveillance, and even guards on duty. Be sure that you are comfortable with the level of security at the facility.

Finally, inspect the facility to see how accessible it is. You may prefer a unit that is accessible 24 hours a day. You may also have the option to have your own lock and key so that only you or your family will have access to the unit.
